Pembina Pipeline donation supports performing arts centre in Drayton Valley

CALGARY, March 10 /CNW/ - Pembina Pipeline Corporation today announced its support of local performing arts in the Drayton Valley, AB community with a gift of $75,000 to The Eleanor Pickup Arts Centre.

This gift will be used to help fund renovations and upgrades to the Centre which, in turn, will provide space for a wide range of activities including performing arts such as music, drama and dance. Originally built in Drayton Valley in 1956 as The Cardium Theatre, the Eleanor Pickup Arts Centre is a historic landmark in the community.

"We recognize the significance the theatre project has in the community and believe that, once complete, it will provide a focal point for arts in the community as well as a tremendous source of civic pride" said Sandy Buchan, Operations Manager for Pembina's local Drayton Valley office.

The total donation will be made in yearly installments over the course of the next five years.

"Residents of Drayton Valley show their trust in Pembina by permitting us to operate in their community. Through donations such as this, we can give back to the community in a way that benefits all our neighbours," added Sandy.

Pembina's investment decisions are based on our understanding of the unique needs and characteristics of each community. We focus community investment initiatives on supporting organizations that advance education, preserve and protect the environment, and foster wellness and cultural awareness.

Pembina has been operating in the Drayton Valley area for approximately 56 years and employs 50 people in town.
